Today I had a great hangout with my friend’s Naomi and Jackie Lee. We talked about the importance of having mentors to help guide you through your business.
I would never have thought of having a mentor – not because I thought I was too cool for school, but because I didn’t really get the idea of what a mentor could be. When I thought of a mentor, I thought of Mad Men’s Peggy Olsen and Don Draper; I thought of how he took her under his wing when he saw her talent, and helped to mold her into a powerful copywriter.
I didn’t think really of having someone like that in my life. But if you watch the replay of our hangout below – I think you’ll see that I got a great mentor after all! (Oh – and watch out at the very beginning – I hadn’t realized Jackie had already started us live!)
Have you found a mentor in your life? Remember – having a mentor doesn’t have to be a person who is necessarily “present” in your life; it can be another blogger, another marketer, another person – who you connect with and who you learn from, either by reading their blog, their books, or watching their videos.
I think that for real growth, finding a mentor is an important step.
PS: We mentioned the book “Get Rich, Lucky Bitch” in the hangout – and if you’re looking to make a real change in your money beliefs and mindset, I just can’t recommend it enough.
