Since last Monday was a holiday, this is our first Blog Workshop for September. Our topic for this month is going to be about using your blog to market your business.
Now, I talk about this in the workshop – but I want to say it again here: Your Blog is NOT Your Business!
Your blog is a way to market your business. Now, your business might be selling ad space on your blog; it may be selling your own Kindle books or jewelry that you make; it may be selling affiliate products. Your blog is a vehicle to connect with an audience that will help you create a profit from whatever it is that your business actually does.
And, whatever your business is, you need to know how to market it on your blog.
Today, we’re going to be talking about the ways that you can market affiliate products on your blog. Some of this will also apply for people who are marketing their own products, because the idea is the same: Get people to your blog and give them a reason to want to buy whatever the item is.
Let’s go over those three things again, in case you weren’t taking notes:
1. Sidebar ads – easy, but the least effective for sales.
2. Informational posts – great for getting traffic, not necessarily for finding people at the right point of the buying cycle.
3. Review posts – May attract less traffic, but get the best click through and sales. (Check out my post on writing reviews that drive sales)
I hope you got a lot of value from the workshop today and that you’ve found something that you can start taking action on today!
