Which Blogging Platform is Right for You?

It can seem like a tough decision, but it’s easier if you think about what it is you need from your blog.
Do you need social media integration? Do you need the ability to post audio or video?
What about remote posting from your tablet or phone?
Do you want to host it yourself, or are you happy with cloud hosting?
And of course.. how much do you want to pay?
That’s why we’ve come up with this handy-dandy chart – take a look and compare some of the most popular blogging platforms going right now.

One other thing you want to keep in mind: Using any cloud-based platform means that you will have to follow the rules. Each of these sites has their own set of rules regarding the type of content you can post, and whether or not your site can be used for commercial use.
Sites like Blogger or WordPress.com are a bit like renting an apartment. They own the property, they get to make the rules. And, the rules can change at any time – which means that one day, the blog that you’ve worked so hard on may no longer be welcome. If you plan on creating a business blog, I always recommend going with a self-hosted blog. You don’t want to have all your hard work in a place where it can be taken away; in this case, it’s always better to own than to rent!
